Hello World...!

Hello!

What could be a better place to start and do learning than your own home. This is how we used to learn for centuries, whether it was Ancient Greeks, Indians or Golden age of Muslim civilization. Somehow in modern life we are made to think that learning is such a difficult domain that children can't be trusted to do it themselves. They have to be monitored and controlled at each stage. 'Education' has to be done in a strict rigid environment, away from home.

Nothing could be farther from the truth.

Children are bestowed with the amazing gift of learning and curiosity by nature.  They will figure out biggest mysteries of life (or at least do a brave attempt). Only they need someone on their side who can understand them, support them and provide them a safe space to make mistakes, so that they learn and go ahead in life with heads high. What could be a better space than home to do this. You slow down the speed, enjoy the scene and then get back on the journey of learning.

“The home is the first and most effective place to learn the lessons of life: truth, honor, virtue, self control, the value of education, honest work, and the purpose and privilege of life. Nothing can take the place of home in rearing and teaching children, and no other success can compensate for failure in the home.”

- David O. McKay

Homeschooling can be an absolute joy. Watching children learn to write, learn shapes, learn numbers, and so much more is a gift for all at home. There would be hard days too. The days when nothing seems to go to plan, the days when we’re not getting along well with our children, the days when focus is difficult . All of this is worth it if we know why are we doing it.

“The most important work you will ever do will be within the walls of your own home.”

- Harold B. Lee

This space is intended to be a record of our journey. As we as a family grow together to shine, we will try to set marks on the path. Just like when you go out in woods, exploring new horizons, you try to leave some clues for any one new coming behind you. It might be of help to them, but more than that, it is for us to see how far we have grown. These will provide us some encouragement on the good days, as well as the hard days, when we need to recall why we are on this journey.

“Homeschooling allows you the freedom to step off the highway of learning and take a more scenic route along a dirt road.”

- Tamara L. Chilver

So for all the excitements, frustrations, Eureka moments, tears of joy, happiness and fun... Here we go...!

Kind regards
